How to Cook Chestnuts

  1. Wash all the chestnuts in cold water
  2. Put the chestnuts in the colander to drain the water
  3. Put them in a big pot and boil them for half an hour
  4. Cut them in half
  5. Check to see if some of them are rotten [they’re rotten if they’re black or brown inside]
  6. Put butter on them
  7. Fry them in a frying pan
  8. Peel the shell off the chestnuts and eat them

If chestnuts have a point at the top you can eat them.  Chestnuts that have no point aren’t good to eat.

  1. I have never eaten chestnuts. Have you cooked them before. Great team work HemReb and FlaMia.

  2. Thank you for reminding me about Chestnuts. I love them but get them rarely because almost all of the Chestnut tress in the US are gone. We can buy them (mostly from France) but they are expensive and not as good as fresh. Enjoy your trees and their fruit.
