Cerberus

In Greek mythology Cerberus is a three headed dog that lives in the underworld. Cerberus stands by the entrants of the underworld by the river Styx. The river Styx is the river where all the spirits come in. Cerberus’s purpose is to keep all the spirits from getting out. His master is Hades the god of the underworld, who is one of the big three-  Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.

The parents of Cerberus are Echidna and Typhon. Echidna is the mother of all monsters, up to her waist she is a human but the rest of her is a snake. Typhon is a fire breathing giant who all the Olympian gods feared.

The only god that can get in and out of the underworld is Hermes.  Hermes is the god of trickery and humor. He travels through shadows and does the same to get out.  The fruit of the underworld is a pomegranate. If you eat a pomegranate in the underworld you will have to stay there FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
