Cross Country

Warming up, just looking around at the puffed red hot faces drooling like dogs. Feels like eels swimming in my stomach. Walking up to the starting line. Clap as the two wooden blocks smack together. The noise of everybodys feet tramping like a stampede. Trying to get a good spot. all the girls trying to not get stomped over. All of us competitive while everyone else sits on a big roll of tarpaulin cheering us on. The teachers all around the cross country course pointing to us where to go. As we pass Mr Mangan on our second lap it makes me feel good. “One more lap,” I say thinking to myself. As I get to the cones I sprint. Running up as fast as I could. I feel so proud of myself because I did it non stop. As I sit down my face is brighter than a big round tomato.

Team Energize

After morning tea today the Year 3s went to our new AstroTurf. We met three people that were part of Team Energize, Anton, Sarah and Dane

We went to play some games with Dane. Room 10 was with Sarah and Room 9 was with Anton.

We played games called Blast Off, Connect, Partner Tag and Numbers. We played all those games in about 40 minutes.

We had lots of fun playing games with Dane. At the end we were hot and thirsty.

The Castle

My favourite toy is a Playmobil castle because it has a draw bridge and a jail and a secret passage wall. You could bring it on vacation because it has a red handle. My mum paid $5 at a garage sale. Then I had to do jobs to earn it. If you buy it on the internet it is $144.99. That’s a lot of money!

My Giant Carrot

I got this carrot from my mum’s brother in laws’s dad’s garden. They grew a small pumpkin and peas. My cousin Erin goes there with me. She took me around the house to the garden. She showed me the vegetables and fruit. Then she showed me the carrot. I said we could have it for dinner.

The Toy Run

In the weekend I went on The Toy Run. I took Elmo on the back of my dad’s motorbike. We went to Cambridge in the car. Then I came back to Hamilton on dad’s bike. Dad’s bike is a yellow Ducati. Yellow is his favourite colour. One of dad’s friends gave us another toy just before we got to Garden Place. It was a purple and yellow Mushabelly. The badges were $10 to buy. They were in a box. Anybody could buy one and the money was given to Child Cancer.

My Nana’s Zucchini

My nana grew a huge zucchini in her garden. My mum said take the giant zucchini to school. It looked so good that I had to eat some. Jorgianah ate some too. You can see the bite marks.

Stock Car

On Friday Glenview School had a Stock Riding Car at school. Mr Fawcett asked me to take some photos. The lady driver asked if I wanted to get in the car. I did. It was fun.

Rarotonga Dollars

In the summer holidays I went to Rarotonga and I got Rarotonga money. It’s triangle shaped money. Mr Fawcett said he had never seen any money like it before. Rarotonga money is way different to New Zealand money.

Burma Trail

When we got to the Burma Trail it was icy cold. I let go of the rope and fell on the bumpy and slippery ground. I fell down ditches all the time.

When we got back to camp hot chocolate and biscuits were waiting for us.

It was dim and dark at night. I held on to the thick string, walking over the roots and through the trees, leaves crashing behind me, the wind slowly swishing on me. It all happened at the Burma Trail.
